EZ Screen

March 27th, 2008

Aside from being really expensive compared to just silkscreening something ourselves using Pratt’s stuff, this thing seems like it’s basically the same process without a frame.

If it works the way I think it does, this could have its uses when trying to silkscreen something that isn’t a flat surface, or just too curvy for a big screen since it isn’t held by a wooden frame. It says that once you expose the screen, you can reuse it again and again. It might even make sense to do this for small graphics like a company logo on a t-shirt or a mug or something. Or you can even silkscreen things on the go like “surprise tattoos” on people. Or very accurate but small stencil without having to cut bridges.

This only appeals to me because I’m lazy, and hopefully you all have better ideas.

Here is the website

By the way, I’m going to go ahead and get this because I can already think of a shit ton of things I want to try with it, so I’ll let you all know how it turns out.
-edit
I just placed my order.
I discovered that there are two products, Photo EZ, and Stencil EZ or something. You probably want Stencil EZ as the mesh sheets last up to 100 uses as opposed to Photo EZ’s 50. Also Photo EZ has to be stored in the refrigerator while Stencil EZ doesn’t apparently. It’s only $1 more expensive.
